Art 21 reflection #3

Click HERE and watch Art 21 videos about at least two artists. Each episode contains videos about four artists. You can watch the whole thing (it’s about 1 hour long) and write about all four for extra credit or you can scroll through the chapters to find the artists you want.

On your blog name the artists you learned about and describe what their work is about. What is the artist trying to do with their work? What do you think of their work? How do you relate to it or not? (Include pictures of the artists’ work for extra credit)

Visiting artist: Hamlett Dobbins.

Take some time to look at visiting artist Hamlett Dobbins' website. Click HERE for the link.

On your blog please post your favorite piece of Hamlett's. Then describe why you like it and how it fits into the rest of his work.

ALSO, develop a question you'd like to ask Hamlett (you'll have several chances to do so). Write that on your blog too. Extra points when you get your question answered and post the answer on your blog!

Principles of Design Research

Today you spent some time looking at a work of art.
In a post on your blog note what the work of art was that you looked at and who made it.
Then, answer the following question:
In what ways did the artist's use of The Principles of Design support the story or message of the work?

ALL FOUR of these words should be in your post: BALANCE, EMPHASIS, MOVEMENT, PROPORTION.

AT LEAST THREE of the the following words should be in your post: SYMMETRY, ASYMMETRY, CONTRAST, PLACEMENT, GROUPING, REPETITION, LEADING LINES, IMPLIED MOVEMENT.
