Pour Paintings

Last week you made paintings by pouring paint onto paper. You then searched the pour to find imagery that could be further developed using other materials.

On your blog, describe the process of making the original pour paintings. How did it feel to give up control of the shapes that were forming? Were you surprised by anything you saw happening?

Next describe what you saw in the pours when you returned to them to further develop the image. Where is your picture headed or if it's done, what did you end up doing with the pour?

Reflecting on blocks, play dough, and finger paint.

We discussed the Picasso quote and why it can be hard for people to continue to be creative and artistic as they grow up. Then we played with the “art supplies” of childhood: blocks, play dough, and finger paint.

On your blog write consistently for the time allotted to describe the experience of playing with these materials as a teenager…connect the experience to our discussion of the Picasso quote in any way you can.

Here are some questions that might help you get started:
What did you do when you first touched the materials?
What did you make with the materials?
How did you know what to do with the materials?
How did you feel while you were working today? Why?
What about your past experiences informed your experience today?

Reflecting on Picasso quote.

Today we read this quote by Pablo Picasso:
"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up."

On your blog, copy the quote into a post and then answer the following question:
What do you think Pablo Picasso means by this statement?

how to use THIS blog.

Welcome to the Art Principles blog. This is where you can find what should be on YOUR blog.
Here's a good way to do it.
Have two tabs open in your browser: one with the class blog and one with your blog.
Copy the title you see at the top of my post into the title space in your blog post.
Read the question and/or instructions and follow them on your blog. Do NOT copy the question of directions into your post...just follow them.
See if there are any labels on my post and copy them into the labels box at the bottom of your post.
Spellcheck.
Publish.
