Artist Statement.

Your final blog post of the year will be the artist statement you've written.
Click HERE to review what we've discussed in class.

If you need to post pictures after your blog post talk to me about how to adjust the dates so that the blog post is the last thing visible on your blog.

Art 21 reflection #3

Click HERE and watch Art 21 videos about at least two artists. Each episode contains videos about four artists. You can watch the whole thing (it’s about 1 hour long) and write about all four for extra credit or you can scroll through the chapters to find the artists you want.

On your blog name the artists you learned about and describe what their work is about. What is the artist trying to do with their work? What do you think of their work? How do you relate to it or not? (Include pictures of the artists’ work for extra credit)

Process Reflection #1.

This week has been the beginning of the end of our time together.

Everyone is in a different spot in their work.

In a post on your blog describe...

What did you accomplish this week?

What challenges did you face?

What are the next steps? What do you plan to do in the week ahead?

Include a photo of your work in progress or of you at work (see class site for pics).

Final project planning.

So…you have a couple of weeks to make whatever you want (almost). What do you hope to accomplish? What is your idea? The job of the artist is to have an idea.

Sketchbook archeology

Spend some time looking through your sketchbook. Look at the cover and try to remember making it way back in September. Turn each page slowly and as you look at them try to remember what you were thinking about when you made those marks. Pay close attention to things that show up more than once…materials, characters, shapes, patterns. In a blog post describe briefly how you’ve felt about your sketchbook this year and what role it’s played in your artistic development. Then…make a list of the things, materials, themes that show up more than once.

Initial Reflection

Look through your blog. Go all the way back to the beginning of the year. Look especially closely at your finished work. Think about how the year has gone for you. Now, write a detailed paragraph that describes how the course has gone for you. What have you found to be your artistic strengths? What have been your challenges? What do you think you’ll leave the class thinking about? How can you see it influencing your life in the future?
